Terms of Service

These terms explain the rules for using Glim, the private, invite-only network where founders meet co-founders and collaborators, and what you can expect from us in return.

Last updated: 7 October 2026

Acceptance and who may join

Glim is a private, invite-only online community and network at joinglim.com, operated by JPA Prime of 20 Wenlock Road, London N1 7GU, England ("Glim", "we", "us"). These terms form a binding agreement between you and us. By requesting an invite, creating an account, or using the service, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use Glim.

Membership is by invite code only. You may join and hold an account only if you are a professional adult aged 18 or over. Glim is intended for professional adults and is not for anyone under 18.

One person, one account. Your account is personal to you. You must not share it, sell it, or let anyone else use it.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and take effect on 7 October 2026.

Your account and keeping it secure

You can create an account using an email address and a password, or by choosing to sign in with LinkedIn. Passwords are hashed and handled by our authentication provider, and we do not store them in plain text.

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in details secure. Keep your password confidential, and do not let anyone else use your account.

Please tell us promptly at odil@joinglim.com if you think someone has gained access to your account or used it without your permission.

Verification

You may sign in with LinkedIn, or link your LinkedIn account to your profile. When you do, your profile shows a verified mark. The mark indicates that you signed in through LinkedIn. It is not a guarantee by us of your identity, your role, or anything you claim.

We may review or verify members to keep the community genuine and safe. This can include checking profiles and the information you provide.

Acceptable use and prohibited conduct

Glim works because members are who they say they are and treat the room with respect. You must give accurate information about yourself and keep it up to date, and you must be who you say you are.

You must not do any of the following:

  • Run scams, fraud, or any deceptive scheme.
  • Send spam, or send mass or bulk messages.
  • Harvest, scrape, or otherwise collect members' data, whether by automated or manual means.
  • Pull members off the platform in order to pitch, sell to, or recruit them in ways these terms do not allow.
  • Impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent who you are, your role, or your affiliation.
  • Use the service in any way that is unlawful, harmful, or that damages the community.

Showing interest in another member or a project requires a genuine written message. Interest costs a message. Empty, automated, or copy-and-paste expressions of interest are not allowed.

Your content and ownership

"Your content" means everything you add to Glim, including your profile (display name, headline, photo, skills, answers to prompts, stage or tier, and what you are looking for), your projects (title, descriptions, images or other media, tags, and stage), and the messages you send.

You keep ownership of your content. You are responsible for it and must have the rights to share it.

You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display your content within the service, so that we can operate Glim and show your content to other members as the product is designed to work. This licence lasts only as long as we need it to provide the service, and it ends when your content is removed, except where we need to keep a copy to meet a legal obligation or for safety.

Our intellectual property

Glim and its licensors own the service itself, including its software, design, and look and feel, and the Glim name and branding. These terms give you the right to use the service as a member; they do not transfer any of our intellectual property to you. You must not copy, modify, or reuse our software or branding except as the service normally allows.

Messaging and the privacy of your conversations

Direct messages are visible to the members taking part in the conversation.

To keep the room safe, first-contact messages are screened for scam patterns. Ongoing private conversations are not surveilled: we look at the first message between people to catch scams and spam, and we do not monitor the private conversations that follow.

Our Privacy Policy explains in full how we handle your personal data.

Paid founding memberships and payments

There are, or will be, paid founding memberships, for example a one-time lifetime membership fee. Where a membership is paid, the price is the one shown to you at the time of purchase.

Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. We do not take or store your full payment card details.

If you buy a paid membership, you can ask us for a full refund within 30 days of your purchase by contacting us. After 30 days, paid memberships are non-refundable, unless the law gives you a right to a refund.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using Glim at any time, and you can delete your account. Deleting your account removes your profile and its associated content.

We may suspend, remove, or ban a member who breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or uses the service to scam or spam. Decisions to remove or ban a member are made by a person, never automatically.

Where it is fair and sensible to do so, we will tell you the reason. Some parts of these terms, by their nature, continue to apply after your membership ends, including any content licence we need to keep for legal or safety reasons, the disclaimers, and the limitation of liability.

Disclaimers

Glim is a place to meet people. We do not vet every member or every claim, and we are not a party to any arrangement, agreement, or venture you enter into with another member. You are responsible for your own decisions about who to work with.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not promise or warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss of profit, loss of business or opportunity, loss of goodwill, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service or your dealings with other members. Our total liability to you for all claims connected with these terms or your use of Glim is limited to the greater of the total amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £100.

General

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest of the terms still apply. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about your use of Glim. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these terms without our consent; we may transfer ours, for example if our business is reorganised, and we will let you know if we do.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the service or to the law. When we make a material change, we will take reasonable steps to let you know. The current version is always the one published on joinglim.com, and the effective date at the top shows when it last changed. If you keep using Glim after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.

Governing law and contact

These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of Glim, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.

You can contact us about these terms or your account at odil@joinglim.com, or by post at JPA Prime, 20 Wenlock Road, London N1 7GU, England.
